MOCK UP

MODEL

My mock up model is very simple

as just to show my first idea that is to have

a very light weight textile, with transparency to pass through some fixed hole(Cellotape) to create different form of textile (wavy , curve and straight).

I choose to used textile with transparency is to create different darkness of colour when the textile overlay above each other to create visual impact and give the potential to create art pieces using overlapping of textile.

Task 3 : Critique session + Progress tutorial

1. Material sample

2.Butter paper with previous research in Task 1 and 2

3. 3-5 keywords

4. Sketch development

5. Mock up model 2

6. Idea board progression

7. Development of final model + process

MOCK UP

MODEL2

This mock up have further developed on the depth and way of crossing of the textile . I tried to create some moveable and fixed restriction from not only the centre pieces also the side, up and down area. Its like brewing your own art pieces.

This mock up have further developed on the depth and way of crossing of the textile . I tried to create some moveable and fixed restriction from not only the centre pieces also the side, up and down area. Its like brewing your own art pieces.

This is how it looks like when assemble

together. It got the shape of black berries

that used in my coffee

Then I cut the wood to form the base and frame of the wall display.

I inserted some Chinese culture element (the top frame) in my wall display.

The Burlap is cut into the shape that I cut on the board and sew onto the top frame using needle and string.

There is total three layer.

Then I use tulle to cross through the burlap (Fixed but movable pathway)

and the free movable pathway.

FINAL OUTCOME

IMG_6533.JPG

It act as a wall display, moveable art pieces and also a photo booth.

if kids under 12 can also sit on the textile in a balance state (where they can interact and achieve the balance state).

    Presentation

                          Board

Some details.

It's fun to explore the different type of materials in the same categories. I get to know more about the characteristics of different materials and to feel what feeling it gave me. I tried a few way to test the material such as pull, tear, burn, soak it into water and etc. Unfortunately the time is too less for me to further my research to more type of fabric and i can only start to choose fabric to create my project. In fabric i found that people tend to have the first impression that fabric is soft and flexible. So i choose the burlap and tulle to express what i think about fabric. Fabric itself can be solid like what i did to burlap to act as a restriction media to the flexible tulle. I personally like the outcome although lecturer doesnt seem to like it but to me is not a bad thing even it is not good, i still can make error in uni atleast not in the future working life.
